true strength is gentle..
true gentleness is so strong…
The juxtaposition of elements that I often use in my creations are line work, simple forms and intricate details. When first seen the piece looks very simple, but upon closer examination there are layers and layers containing minute elements within each piece.
Whether it is the flow of a line, which may be bold and powerful, or a thin sliver barely seen; without it somehow this piece of work would not be.
Pure White with a faint touch of color has the power of gentle dreaminess and calm ..a work of art in which you can always find peace.
Black in all its richness against a shock of color, creates instant drama…zing goes the heart…a creation that will always give you an instant boost in vitality.
Zangy craziness… creations of human origin, animal or just my wild imagination, bring pleasure to me when I am bringing them to life ..they may be a simple line drawing, mixed media or collage.
Extreme close-ups, showing the minute detail even to the point of abstraction intrigues me. To capture the essence of a subject using a minimum of black lines is a challenge I often take on in my work. A slight waver of any one line will ruin the piece-complete control with the look of absolute freedom-very satisfying to me. Line, color, texture and emotional content all are found in my work. My great thirst for knowledge and need to create beauty is a way of life for me—very satisfying.
